Located in the heart of the Swiss Normandy in the Orne, Rabodanges lake covers an area of 110 hectares. It was filled in 1959, thus drowning part of the river Orne. It is a natural site remarkable in many respects, renowned among other things for the quality of the fishing of the carnivores that one can find there: pike-perch, poles and pike. A paradise for nature lovers. It is worth the effort to spend some time there. You will not be bored thanks to the diversity of activities on offer: water sports (fishing, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing ...); Hiking circuits to be covered on foot, on horseback or by mountain bike; Rock climbing, hang-gliding, paintball ... There's something for everyone ... whether you're a thrill-seeker or a looking for a quieter, more contemplative activity.
For dining on the shores of the lake, the PALM BEACH, a children's playground, offers a snack bar, wood-fire grills and pizzas, and in a different way, the panoramic restaurant LA ROTONDE offers gastronomic cooking.
Nearby, charming picturesque villages reveal their treasures: the old houses built on the granite of Putanges - Pont Ecrépin, the fountains and the church of Menil-Gondouin, the wash houses of Ri, Auvray forest or Rabodanges castle, or Les Rotours. As well as exceptional very unusual natural sites in Normandy such as the Roche d'Oëtre or the gorges of Saint-Aubert-sur-Orne, the viaduct of Mesnil Villement. There are definitely many good reasons to visit us and enjoy a pleasant cruise on the unique site of Rabodanges lake 35 minutes from Caen.
